Cover letter

Dear Madam or Sir, I am currently seeking a post or paid internship in one or more of the following areas: Communications, Tourism or Translation (French to English). As my cv/resumé will show, I have enjoyed both an artistic and academic career. Over the years I have worked in many different fields: salesman, restauration, communications, dancer, teacher/choreographer and hotel reception. I have developed a strong passion for exploration and research. Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, USA, I began my university studies in Communications later changing my major to Print Journalism. I attended a School of Communications, for three years on academic scholarship. During my tenure as a university student, I had the opportunity to work on several writing projects as well as contribute to the campus weekly. Here, I worked with a team of talented writers. Together we published a weekly newspaper which covered local, cultural and political events in the Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas. Some years later, I fulfilled a cursus in Dance Education, was named to the Dean's List and graduated with Honors. As a dancer, I worked with both companies and troupes, collaborated on numerous choreographic projects, and worked with choreographers and young talents from many different parts of the world. The intellectual and cultural exchange during the creative process, both within and outside of the studio, far surpassed the physical demonstration asked of the body.Living in France for the past 6 years, I have had the rare opportunity to not only mastering the language (i.e. working as a teacher's assistant in the French school system, giving English conversation lessons, teaching dance and movement classes) but also receiving a history lesson unable to be told in the pages of a mere book. I communicate regularly in both English and French and I have a comprehension of the Spanish language, having studied the language in high school.I would like to expand my appreciation of communication and language by submitting my candidature for your announcement. I am willing to travel and/or work from home. It is with great hope that my profile and professional experiences will interest you. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Cordially,
